The safari is ideal for those who have less time but want to track the gorillas in Uganda.  You will take a one hour scheduled flight from Entebbe to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip. The flight to Bwindi National Park or Mgahinga National Park will treat you to amazing aerial views of the stunning landscape in southwestern Uganda but the top highlight of this safari is the rare experience of trekking Uganda’s mountain gorillas in the wild, one of the most unforgettable wildlife encounters in the world.

Fly In To Mgahinga National Park Or Bwindi National Park

Transfer to the airport for your flight out to either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip from where you will be picked and transferred to your lodge. Since most flights are in the morning, you have an opportunity to take on a community walk in the vicinity of the lodge or simply enjoying reading or resting at the lodge.

Early morning flight from Entebbe International Airport to either Kisoro airstrip or Kihihi airstrip according to where you will be trekking; you fly into Kisoro if you shall be tracking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park or in the Rushaga & Nkuringo sectors of the Bwindi which are closer to Kisoro. You would fly to Kihihi airstrip which is situated near to the Buhoma & Ruhija sectors of Bwindi National Park. Where you trek depends on the availability of the gorilla tracking permits or the preferred accommodation. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will be picked by the guide and transfer to the lodge. Spend the evening at leisure enjoying the nature beauty.

Gorilla Trekking

You will be in a tropical forest, it can rain anytime.  We encourage you to carry a rain jacket, waterproof hiking boots, gardening gloves for protection against stinging plants.  Wear Long trousers and long sleeved sweaters or shirts. Don’t forget the camera

Start the day with an early morning breakfast before driving to the briefing point at 6am.  The Ugandan Wildlife Authority ranger guide will share about the code of conduct in the park. You will then be allocated a gorilla family to trek after which you will start off gorilla trekking these gentle giants as directed by the rangers. The hike can sometimes be tough and anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours depending on where the gorillas will be on a specific. But when meet them; your journey will be well worth the effort.  You get to hear the gorillas communicating with one another, watch them play, feed, jump from different tree branch to another, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant called Silverback. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas watching them from six meters before returning to the base station. Later, return back to the lodge for lunch and an evening at relaxation.

After early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for the flight back to Entebbe and connect with your international flight or transfer to you chosen hotel.
