2 Days Akagera National Park

Located in Eastern, Akagera National Park is named after Kagera River that flows along Rwanda’s eastern boundary with Tanzania. The river feeds into Lake Ihema and other smaller lakes in and around the park. Akagera comprise savannah, woodland, wetland and a dozen lakes. Home to the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Cape buffalo, Rhino and Elephant) as well as hundreds of other animal and bird species, the largely open expanse is ideal for game viewing.

Pick up at 9 am at the hotel/ your residence and depart for Akagera National Park. After 2 hours and half, we should arrive at the park gate and proceed to the park reception for registration.  Arriving in lunch time, you will check in and go for lunch. Later, you will go for a short game and later a sunset boat safari on Lake Ihema with chance to see its large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles and abundant waterbirds on the island in the middle of the lake.

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early morning breakfast at and with packed Lunch you will head out for your full day game drive. You will drive from 6 to 7 hours from the southern part of the park to the north. You will have more chances to spot more wildlife as we will be moving from thick bushes to open savanna. You will encounter buffalo, elephant, antelope, zebra, giraffe, baboons, monkeys, plus much more. We will continue and Exit from the northern Gate and Proceed to Kigali.
