2 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking

Pick up at 9 am at the hotel/ your residence and road transfer to Volcanoes National Park. It will take approximately 3.5 hours driving through beautiful majestic hills. Arrival and check-in at the Lodge. After lunch, you will drive to Gorilla Guardians to experience Rwandan culture and village life.

DAY 2 : MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING

Make sure you wear comfortable hiking boots and long-sleeve shirt and pants against the brush and don’t leave your camera.

You will be met by your drive after an early breakfast at the lodge and drive to the park reception for registration, be allocated a guide and a gorilla family to trek.  You will be briefed on keeping a safe distance from mountain gorillas and how to behave near mountain gorillas before heading in the forest to search for the gorillas. The trek can vary between 1 to 5 hours to the gorillas climbing steep slopes, through uneven vegetation, at an altitude of above 2,500m. When you reach your mountain gorilla family, you will spend one hour observing them up close grooming, caring for young ones, eating or just walking around you. You have been preparing for this moment, but the emotion you feel is more profound than you imagined. You will return to the starting point and go for lunch. Later you will embark on a drive to Kigali.
