After breakfast at the hotel, met your drive guide and drive to The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting for more than 250,000 victims of Genocide against Tusti. The Kigali Genocide Memorial includes three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. There is also a children’s memorial and an exhibition on the history of genocidal violence around the world. The Education Centre, Gardens, and Genocide Archive of Rwanda form part of a meaningful tribute to those who perished, and provide a powerful educational tool for visitors. From, here you will proceed to Volcanoes National Park to arrive in lunch time. After lunch you will visit Dian Fossey Museum and learn about her legacy in protecting mountain gorillas and ongoing conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Make sure you wear comfortable hiking boots and long-sleeve shirt and pants against the brush and don’t leave your camera.

Have an early breakfast at the hotel before embarking on your life time experience.  Meet your guide and drive to Volcanoes National Park reception for registration and be allocated a guide and a gorilla family to trek.  You will be briefed on keeping a safe distance from mountain gorillas and how to behave near mountain gorillas before heading in the forest to search for the gorillas. The trek can vary between 1 to 5 hours to the gorillas climbing steep slopes, through uneven vegetation, at an altitude of above 2,500m. When you reach your mountain gorilla family, you will spend one hour observing them up close grooming, caring for young ones, eating or just walking around you. You have been preparing for this moment, but the emotion you feel is more profound than you imagined. You will return to the starting point and drive to the lodge for lunch and relaxation

Today, you will drive back to the park headquarters for another briefing and registration. You will follow same protocol as the previous day but be allocated a different gorilla family to trek. You will hike in the forest and once you see the gorilla, you will have another one hour of enjoyment as each trekking is unique. You will letter descend to the foothill and go for lunch before driving to Lake Kivu for dinner and overnight.

Lake Kivu is one of the great lakes of Africa and stretches across the entire western Rwanda. Lake Kivu has very clean and clear water and no crocodiles, hippos or other dangerous animals can be found. Neither does Lake Kivu contain bilharzia, a parasite commonly found in the tropics. After breakfast, you will go for a scenic boat on and around the Lake Kivu up to the Hot spring where you can experience a local massage that relieves fatigue.
